Microdot Sleeve: In computer, skin is a piece of software that enables the user to change the appearance of images produced by existing software without changing their function. In music, another term for percussion drums, especially in a jazz band.
Back in the 80's, I was into New Wave and stuffs until I got hooked to Rush's music, a Canadian rock band originally formed in August 1968, in the Willowdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, composed of bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. One time in the 90's, Vig and I had some conversations about jazz, and zildjian, and drums. I told him that I knew a guy(not personally) who played drums better than any drummer that time, and that is Neil Peart. Last week, I found this on youtube, a 3D animation of Rush's "YYZ" off their 1981 album "Moving Pictures" an album full of synthesizers and a lot of drums.
Half Note: Presenting... The Dead Pop Star!
Sounds like an introduction for a new wave band on stage, but the truth is, Michael Jackson is dead. He was pronounced dead earlier this afternoon at the UCLA Medical Center. I remember the british rock wave band Bolshoi, famous with their song "Away" and "Sunday Morning," had a live version of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." Also, Jackson's famous "Moonwalk" was an adlib steps of street dance like "Strutt" and "Breakdance" back in the 80's. Well anyway, I heard the news saying that, though he earned a billion dollars for the past 4 decades of his career, he died broke, and renting a home in L.A. with $500 million of debt.
