Pumpkin Whatever it is that you will see or hear or read from all the things presented in this site which does not conform with your principles in life or your personal beliefs even with your musical understanding, has nothing to do with the integrity of my spiritual direction. I'm just visiting the old days and I thought that maybe, you too were part of the musical beauty and wonders of the past, and that somehow from all of this, we'll find each other and connect the string which were once cut and partly forgotten because of all the years that passed and hoping you'll try to relate with the music and stuffs written here and in a way help you in remembering some old friends, families, faded loves, people, places and events. Enjoy your stay! Pumpkin

Twenty-O-Nine...

Microdot Sleeve: Nothing much to say about January's first leg, but I wanted to reminisce things that happened last year. Things that I wanted to write but don't have enough time. Things that I’ve said, yet nobody wanted to listen. Things that I heard but I really don't understand, etc, etc.

Naruto Shippuden

Recently, I'm into watching cartoons and anime, (Avatar:The Last Air Bender and Naruto Shippuden are some of my favorites.) Anyway, Naruto Uzumaki (Uzumaki Naruto) is the title character and main protagonist of the series "Naruto". Although he is only a Genin of Konohagakure, he is trained as a sage and thus is one of the village's most powerful ninja. He is the only son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, a member of Team Kakashi, and the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox.

Naruto was born as the son of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and Kushina Uzumaki. Before his birth, they had decided to name him after the main character in Jiraiya's first book, hoping their son would be as great a ninja as the character was, which made Jiraiya Naruto's godfather. Soon after his birth, however, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked Konoha. To save the village, Minato engaged the Nine-Tails in combat and sacrificed his life by sealing it within Naruto, to which Minato believed that his son would someday have use for it. Naruto was left to grow up knowing nothing of his parents, receiving only his mother's last name since Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, felt that it was best that nobody knew that he was related to the Fourth Hokage.

Before Minato died, he asked that the villagers of Konoha to view Naruto as a hero who had helped to stop the Nine-Tails. While few of the villagers did as he asked, most instead openly resented him for containing the monster that had destroyed their home. In light of this, Hiruzen decreed that nobody should ever speak of the Nine-Tails sealed within Naruto, hoping that their children would not resent him as they did. The children, however, followed their parents' lead, despite not knowing why. Iruka Umino would be one of the few exceptions, who was always compassionate to Naruto's plight. For this, Naruto came to view Iruka as the father-figure he never had.

The Maguindanao massacre, also known as the Ampatuan massacre (after the town where the mass graves were found), occurred on the morning of November 23, 2009, in the town of Ampatuan in Maguindanao province, on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The victims were about to file a certificate of candidacy for Esmael Mangudadatu, vice mayor of Buluan town. Mangudadatu was challenging Datu Unsay mayor Andal Ampatuan, Jr., son of the incumbent Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan, Sr., in the forthcoming Maguindanao gubernatorial election, part of the national elections in 2010. The 57 people killed included Mangudadatu's wife, his two sisters, journalists, lawyers, aides, and motorists who were witnesses or were mistakenly identified as part of the convoy.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has called the Maguindanao massacre the single deadliest event for journalists in history. At least 34 journalists are known to have died in the massacre. In a statement, CPJ executive director Joel Simon noted that the killings, "appears to be single deadliest event for the press since 1992, when CPJ began keeping detailed records on journalist deaths." The CPJ further noted that, "Even as we tally the dead in this horrific massacre, our initial research indicates that this is the deadliest single attack on the press ever documented by CPJ."

Typhoon Ondoy Aftermath

A Dam(ned) Nation...
(The unbelievable wrath of typhoon Ondoy)

Metro Manila had never seen a typhoon like it. It was undoubtedly the worst flood that Manila had ever seen. The floodwaters did not choose whom to hit or where to go. Rich or poor, everyone was affected. The news and pictures are really very grim.
We know that places in Metro Manila like Malabon, Marikina, Pasay City and Cainta, normally gets flooded... but not like this! Water covered the first floors and in some areas, even the second floors of houses! And places that were never before flooded, like the Katipunan Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Eastwood, Green-hills, Magallanes Village, the Valle Verde Villages, Green-meadows, Xavierville, Kamias, Loyola, Aurora Boulevard and many more were under waist and even chest deep of water.

Camp Aguinaldo from air looked like a big lake. Buses and cars in EDSA near Connecticut Street, Greenhills were submerged in flood water. How can these things happen? People were on their roofs just to keep from drowning. Men were tightrope walking in the electrical and telephone lines on top of the Meralco posts! People were stranded in the streets, inside their cars, in malls, in train stations! Everything was so sudden. The worst hit seem to be those families who were at their homes on a rainy Saturday of September 26 near the Marikina and Pasig Rivers, they were really devastated. It was so heart breaking!
As I watched the news, I saw how people lost their loved ones and their homes. I heard how the rescue workers were overwhelmed. They said that they have never seen anything like it. According to the weathermen, the amount of rainfall that normally falls in a month during rainy season in Metro Manila, fell in the span of six hours!

That was why the flood came without warning. But now, there are reports that the main cause of the devastation is someone’s error or wrong decision (thinking it will save one area but without thinking or expecting the damage it could do to other parts of the country). These unverified reports point out that someone decided to release water from the La Mesa and Angat Dams without warning and in a short time that brought about the suddenness of the rising of floodwaters.
