Pumpkin Whatever it is that you will see or hear or read from all the things presented in this site which does not conform with your principles in life or your personal beliefs even with your musical understanding, has nothing to do with the integrity of my spiritual direction. I'm just visiting the old days and I thought that maybe, you too were part of the musical beauty and wonders of the past, and that somehow from all of this, we'll find each other and connect the string which were once cut and partly forgotten because of all the years that passed and hoping you'll try to relate with the music and stuffs written here and in a way help you in remembering some old friends, families, faded loves, people, places and events. Enjoy your stay! Pumpkin

H.U.G.E.
On previous rants panel, this rant was entitled "Rooftops and Carparks" though it's not about cars, parking lot crimes, rooftop fantasies, and RC's, but a short story from the free concert movement in the late 80's where Pinoy Bands played on SM rooftops and carparks, and about last night's 12 o'clock run, and our station anniversary show held at the Marikina Sports Complex.

Busy day was yesterday, because it was the 2nd anniversary of our station. The station that never sleeps, UNTV37, and it was HUGE! Although I was stucked the whole day on tight scanning, my mind has wings, dazed with Mcdo duties while watching the station ID's on Joe Satriani's guitar licks background. And hey, do you know that the HUGE anniversary show preview played in our locales had an opening from the Smashing Pumpkins song "I am one" off the "Gish" album?

Anyway, a lot of things happened during the anniversary show. Job fairs, medical stuffs, the usual UNTV programs but LIVE, and of course, the spiritual things and insights from the Bible through Bro. Eli was the best from the long day event that started around four in the morning. I've met some friends and brethrens and caught and gave grin to Me, Myself, and I and her sister who's also a brethren and batang weirdo. Then the 12 O'clock midnight band runs with "Bro. Jamilan" along with the "ADD Strings," Dong Abay's band "Yano," former "Athena's Curse" "Alamid," (and the Crashed or Crushed or Trashed Ambulance or whatever they were called, it was true to their sound. Out of timing and awful sound check.) Then I went into another slide back in time in the late 80's where "Deans December" with Binky Lampano on vocals at the rooftop of SM WEST carpark. "Tribulation" and "Half Life, Half Death" on the front parking area. So, this would be the start of something big in our station, really big things, and big duties of course. A lot of stories to tell, but I'm having a hard time remembering things at the moment, a few smudges from my memory and sleepless nights I guess. Anyway, I pulled myself out around one O'clock in the morning and went home. Congratulations to UNTV!

U... N... T... V... HUGE!

The Curemicrodot sleeve: "Standing on a Beach" was the Cure's double album title. It was taken from their "Killing an Arab" song line.
Standing on a beach
With a gun in my hand
Staring at the sea
Staring at the sand

As with "Remembering The Alphabet" on the sidebar panel and some "The Cure Artworks" from an Italian site, I've added this rants in support of that section for it is not mainly about A to Z Music Shop, but remembering the early years in my life.(So goes the title of the panel) I remember having notebooks full of designs from song lyrics and bands in my highschool days. All the years that went down the drain. I guess I miss the New Wave era. Anyway, here's a song for lovers, "The Exploding Boy" off The Cure's 1986 double album "Standing on a Beach."

Standing on a Beach Vinyl

The Exploding Boy
The Cure

I couldn't hear a word you said
I couldn't hear at all
You talked until your tongue fell out
And then you talked some more
I knew if I turned
I'd turn away from you
And I couldn't look back

Tell yourself we'll start again
Tell yourself it's not the end
Tell yourself it couldn't happen
Not this way
Not today
